Funding for Graduate Students: National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program Info session
Pursuing a graduate education is a great way to advance in a STEM career. However, finances can be a major barrier.
Faculty and advisors can often play a pivotal role in student success in applying for and receiving funding for graduate school. Join AAAS and NSF's online info session on the U.S. National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP) and gain valuable perspectives to share with faculty and students at your institution.
NSF Program Directors Narcrisha Norman and Joel Schildbach will share an overview on the NSF GRFP's eligibility, application process, and review criteria. Faculty will leave equipped with an understanding of how to support current and future graduate students in obtaining funding for graduate school.

AI-related products and technologies are constructed and deployed in a societal context: that is, a dynamic and complex collection of social, cultural, historical, political and economic circumstances.
This seminar will explore the challenges it takes to translate these societal contexts into the quantitative representations, methods, and practices that dominate standard machine learning (ML) approaches and responsible AI product development practices.

AUC Student Data Science Symposium 2023
Friday, September 22. The Atlanta University Center (AUC) Data Science Initiative is proud to host a FREE one-day virtual symposium to celebrate and highlight the data science work of students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The virtual Symposium features opportunities to engage with industry professionals and networking opportunities with students from HBCUs. All HBCU student registrants will be asked to upload a resume that we will share with potential employers.
HBCU Tech 2023 Conference
Join HBCUs across the country, HP, guest presenters, sponsors, and exhibitors for virtual sessions for your entire campus from September 12-15, 2023. The conference will focus on the future of Higher Education at HBCUs and the role of digital transformation in that future. We invite participation from across each HBCU campus, with four distinct tracks for: HBCU leaders, IT, Faculty and Staff, and Students.
HBCUFI Pre-Accelerator
The HBCU Founders Initiative is partnering with 12 Historically Black Colleges and Universities for a Fall and Spring Pre-Accelerator. The 8-week program targets early-stage founders who are past the ideation stage and ready to validate a problem and build an MVP. Topics will be presented in weekly virtual cohort sessions with on-campus activities also planned (at the 12 schools listed below). All participants will have access to office hours with advisors who will help them along their entrepreneurial journey. Participants will be eligible to receive non-dilutive program awards in support of MVP development. Applications open on July 1st and close on August 6th.

Harvard University - Technology Entrepreneurship: Lab to Market
In this introductory course, developed in collaboration with the Laboratory for Innovation Science at Harvard and the University of California San Diego, you’ll explore how entrepreneurs match promising technology with customer needs to launch successful new businesses. Using real-world examples, you’ll apply critical thinking to commercialize technologies, and you’ll learn about the venture creation process from founders, funders, and industry experts.
